Description
Array 20 – Blood-Brain Barrier Permeability™
Assesses the integrity of the blood-brain barrier by detecting antibodies to BBB proteins.
What does this test measure?
The Array 20 test measures IgG, IgA, and IgM antibodies against major proteins in the blood-brain barriers (S100B and Claudin-5) which maintain the integrity of the biological door against neuroautoimmunity and neurodegenerative disorders. It detects breaches of the blood-brain barrier due to various factors, including gut bacterial toxins, gut-originated amyloid beta protein and peptides, and many other environmental factors, such as foods, toxic chemicals, and pathogens. This array also helps in investigating traumatic brain injuries, sport-related or otherwise.
Clinical Use
Identifies breaches in the blood-brain barrier, which may be associated with neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders.
