Description
Urine Diurnal Hormones (UDH) I
A baseline adrenal diurnal hormone panel that tracks cortisol and cortisone
levels throughout the day via urine samples.
What does this test measure?
By measuring free cortisol and its inactive form (cortisone) at four time
points, this test evaluates the daily cortisol curve, helping to detect
adrenal hyperfunction (e.g., Cushing’s pattern) or hypofunction (flattened
cortisol curve).
Who is this test most suitable for?
People with prolonged psychological stress, burnout, erratic sleep patterns.
Clinical Use
It is useful for identifying irregular adrenal rhythms associated with chronic
stress or fatigue, and for guiding interventions to restore normal circadian
cortisol balance. Compared to UDH II and III, UDH I focuses on adrenal output
without melatonin or catecholamine analysis.
