Description
Urine Diurnal Hormones (UDH) II
A dried urine hormone test that monitors adrenal cortisol output and the
primary melatonin metabolite (6-sulfatoxymelatonin) across the day.
What does this test measure?
It provides insight into adrenal gland function and the sleep-wake cycle by
measuring cortisol and cortisone at four intervals, along with overnight
melatonin production.
Who is this test most suitable for?
- People with a high-stress lifestyle
- Irregular sleep schedule
- Night shift work
- Those potentially experiencing burnout
Clinical Use
This panel is used to identify abnormal cortisol curves or melatonin
deficiencies that could underlie conditions like chronic stress, insomnia, or
adrenal fatigue. It is slightly less extensive than UDH III, focusing on
cortisol patterns and circadian rhythm without catecholamine measurement.
